I think we’ve seen the last of the snow for the metro area! Your kids are probably clamoring to be done with school and you yourself are looking forward to some sunshine and to lose the winter luster, and even though we still have a few weeks before they officially open up, now is as good a time as any to start planning and buying those new summer swim suits!

We’ve compiled a list of the top 15 pools in the Denver area to swim, splash, lounge, or drink at, some of them are kid friendly and some are adults only. So pull out your swimsuit and make a list to visit a few this summer!

5. Broomfield Bay Aquatic Park

250 Lamar St., Broomfield, 303-464-5520;broomfield.org.

Open May 23-August 23

$4 for residents and $8 for non residents of Broomfield

This clean, bright, city-run outdoor aquatic park in Broomfield has loads of fun features: two serpentine slides, a leisure pool with gradual-depth entry, an interactive water-play structure, a single (or double) inner-tube slide, otter slides and a separate toddler pool with a waterfall.

The lawn area is good for picnics and the concession stand keeps grumbling stomachs at bay.

4. The Splash at Fossile Trace

3151 Illinois St, Golden

Opens June 1st- August 28th

The Splash has fun filled attractions for all ages! Sitting on 10 acres in beautiful Jefferson County in the City of Golden, the Splash something for kids of all ages! The Leisure Pool offers a large interactive play structure with slides, spray cannons, and a "Tipper" bucket that drops hundres of gallons of water every couple minutes. This area also has two large water slides. The one-rider tube slide is 180 feet of fun! The body slide is 151 feet of fun! In addition, the Leisure Pool offers a kiddy slide, beach entry, and shallow water depths.
The Lap Pool offers eight, 25m lanes, a diving board, and open swimming areas during the day.

3. Meadow Hills Pool

 3609 S. Dawson St., Aurora; 303-693-0018

Newly rebuilt, this public community pool is located within the Meadow Hills Golf Club. Surrounded by links and tennis courts, it has a country-club feel.

The pool has six lanes (one reserved for laps) and a diving well with a 1-meter board. A separate kiddie pool is available for kids 6 and younger. Shade, new picnic tables and benches, a nice mountain view and a decent concession stand make this a pristine one-stop swimming spot.

Note:This popular pool shares a parking lot with the golf course, so arrive early or be prepared to walk a few blocks and wait in line to enter.

Open: June 1st- August 31

Admission:Adults $3.50, kids and seniors $3.
